We currently practice zoning and land use law in Forsyth County, Georgia, the City of Alpharetta, the City of Roswell, the City of Milton, the City of Johns Creek, Dawson County, Georgia, Cherokee County, Georgia, Pickens County, Georgia, Lumpkin County, Georgia, and the City of Atlanta, Georgia. In the past, Mr. Teague has handled zoning cases and disputes across the entire state involving counties -- from the coast of Georgia to the Tennessee state line. The power of home rule under the Georgia Constitution of 1983 grants local governments the power to enact zoning ordinances. With 159 Georgia counties and many more municipalities, there are hundreds of zoning jurisdictions each with its own set of local ordinances regarding what type of commercial and residential land uses will be permitted. The disputes we handle related to the following subjects: - Annexations
- Rezonings
- Commercial Rezonings
- Residential Rezonings
- Industrial Rezonings
- Subdivision Development Ordinances
- Special Use Permits & Conditional Use Permits
- Variances
- Buffers
- Setbacks
- Zoning Overlays
- Local Airports
- Racetracks
- Parks
- Ballparks
- Parking
- Traffic
- Solid Waste Landfills & Construction and Demolition Landfills
- Administrative Appeals of Zoning Permits
- State and Federal Court Litigation and Trials
The type of clients for whom we have worked include local and national builders, homeowners, citizen groups, real estate brokers and agents, developers, homeowner associations, one or more counties and municipalities, and a large Georgia trade association representing manufacturers and dealers of a housing product.
